Creating a more diverse and inclusive campus is a priority for ΌͺΟιΒ齫, linked to and aligned with our strategic plan for the express purpose of building a stronger foundation for a promising future. Further ΌͺΟιΒ齫's strategic plan now includes its inaugural diversity strategic plan, A More Inclusive ΌͺΟιΒ齫: Advancing Equity and Diversity (2020β25).
Our Working DEFINITION OF DIVERSITY
Diversity is recognizing and valuing the variety of backgrounds, perspectives and beliefs held by members of the ΌͺΟιΒ齫 community. Our diversity tenets include sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, race, ethnicity, color, nationality, mental ability, physical ability, religious affiliation, age and veteran status. Diversity can also be shaped by our political ideologies, organizational/institutional structure (for example management status, classification, work location, division/department unit group).

The Office of Inclusion and Institutional Equity (OIIE) promotes equal treatment, access, and opportunity in all educational activities and employment decisions at ΌͺΟιΒ齫.
Office of the Provost
Diversity Initiatives and Resources offered through the Office of the Provost foster environments grounded in respect and inclusion for all members of ΌͺΟιΒ齫βs campus community. These include the Diversity Faculty Fellows Program, Dialogue and a Diversity and Inclusion Tool Kit with resources for faculty.
Center for Student Diversity
The Center for Student Diversity (CSD) supports the access and academic success of historically under-represented groups through programs and services that enhance the student experience.
Accessibility and Disability Services
Accessibility and Disability Services (ADS) works with students to determine and implement reasonable accommodations for various disabilities and some temporary conditions that substantially limit one or more major life activities.
Human Resources
The Office of Human Resources responds to requests for accommodations from ΌͺΟιΒ齫 employees and applicants for employment with disabilities.

Student Diversity ResourcesIndigenous Land Acknowledgment
Towson University seeks to cultivate relationships with Native American and Indigenous communities and nations through academic pursuits, partnerships, historical recognitions, community service and enrollment efforts. These communities and nations include the Susquehannock, Nentego (Nanticoke) and the Piscataway people, who consider the land that the university currently occupies part of their ancient homeland.
